The Green made a stop at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall with Sammy J this past week as they continue the “Marching Orders” tour throughout the US with dates in New Jersey, Maryland, Florida, Texas and California, to name a few. As of this post, dates in Sacramento and Oakland are already listing as “Sold Out.” The crowd in Chicago was tremendously receptive as the six man group entertained with songs from their inception until now. Their set included many of their biggest hits as well as their cover of The White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” (also found on their new album Marching Orders).
THE GREEN
Formed in O’ahu, Hawaii, in 2009, The Green has received great acceptance and recognition in their native Hawaii and the mainland. The band was awarded iTune’s Best Reggae Album for their 2010 self-titled debut, three Na Hoku Hanohano awards (Hawaii’s premiere music awards, equivalent to the Grammy’s) and two #1 Billboard Reggae chart debuts and a Billboard Top 200.

SAMMY JOHNSON
Sammy Johnson is an Australian-native, New Zealand raised transplant to Los Angeles, California combines soul, jazz and island reggae to communicate his life experiences into a unique sound. He has chart topping singles that have appeared on local and reggae charts, Billboard Top 40 reggae charts and iTunes Top 20. Sammy Johnson’s vocals are an emotional trip. Watching him sing was a treat. There is feeling and power behind every word while he is on stage.
