RECAP: Ana Tijoux, Chicano Batman and Celso Piña at The Riviera

In an intimate, historical venue known as The Riviera Theatre, Miller Lite landed with another edition of Miller Lite Conciertos Originales, this time with Ana Tijoux, Chicano Batman and Celso Piña at the helm. The three headliners have played the windy on separate occasions through 2018 but seeing them together under one roof for the exceptional ticket price of FREE was pretty freakin’ awesome.

Ana kicked off the night with a fusion of her recent Roja y Negro and Ruido Fest concerts that included hits all the way from 1977 to Vengo. So if you didn’t see either of her earlier 2018 shows, you got more bang for your free admission. And if you did, who cares, it’s Ana Tijoux! And, again, this show was free!

Chicano Batman got the crowd jumping with their signature psychedelic, funk, tropicalia, indie, soulful rock brand of music; a sound as original as their style and name. And the accordion rebel Celso Piña and his Ronda Bogota closed out the night as the crowd danced to the heavy dose of cumbia and tropically infused hits The Riv had been sorely missing for so many years.

The Miller Lite Conciertos Originales wrapped up its summer series in Chicago with this triple threat of Alternative Indie, Hip Hop and Cumbia. But, the beer brand has promised to bring Chi-town more free concerts before the end of the year. Stay tuned on Gozamos.com and our social medias for future updates.
