We have loved multiple-times-Latin Grammy-awarded La Vida Bohéme for quite some time – at least since they first hit the stage and our radar about 6 years ago, at the LAMC – and it was so much fun to catch up with Henry Arteaga from La Vida Bohéme from their now home in Mexico City, as the band approaches its visit to Chicago.
Arteaga spoke of the band’s move to the capital of Mexico from Venezuela, and how it affected their music and made possible their new album, “La Lucha“. It was a very insightful conversation, and we share some of the highlights below, framed in the melodies and rhythms of Domingo and Lejos, two of our favorite tunes from the new album.
La Vida Bohéme plays tonight at Chop Shop.
