Chicago Emergency Call to Action in Solidarity with #Ferguson & #MarissaAlexander

Today, 6:30 p.m. 

Chicago Police Headquarters 35th and Michigan.

We will hold a speak out and a vigil, and share words and imagery that will honor Mike Brown, as well as the 89 Chicagoans who have been killed by police in the past five years.

We will demand justice for those who have been taken from us, and those who are living in spite of a system that has deemed them disposable.

Community Healing Space and Warming Center

Today, 6:00-10:00pm 

Chicago Freedom School, 719 S. State Street, Suite 3N, Chicago

In support of protesters, organizers and community folk attending the speak out and vigil mentioned above (and those needing an alternative space),Chicago Freedom School will open up their space to create a place of healing, centering, listening, warming-up and resting. The space will have healers providing aromatherapy, art/crafting, body work, listening circles, and more.  There will be plenty of snacks and hot beverages.
