Üateke Rock Fest at Joe’s Live (March 8)

Featuring Los Pericos, Antidoping, Doctor Krápula & Los Estrambóticos

Festival season begins earlier than ever this year and Üateke is taking the lead in the reggae, ska and punk circuit as they head to Chicago for a show at Joe’s Live on March 8. The 2020 edition features Los Pericos, Antidoping, Doctor Krapula, and Los Estramboticos along with local bands, beginning this weekend in Anaheim.

Latin Grammy nominated Los Pericos is one of the most internationally successful bands from Argentina formed in 1987 and that continue to expand their reggae rock throughout the continents with 16 albums to date. They have sold more than 2 million albums and have performed more than 1,500 lives shows throughout Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, to name a few in their 30+ years of trajectory.


Antidoping is one of the pioneers of Mexican reggae founded by two brothers in 1992 that continues to demonstrate that music and street are can cross borders, developing a revolutionary social environment in parallel with the Zapatista movement. The band’s music fuses roots reggae, ska and Caribbean rhythms with urban flavor. Most recently, the band released their 10th album Knock Out (2019).


Previously nominated five times to the Latin Grammy among many other awards Doctor Krápula, is one of the most important and influential rock bands in Latin America from Colombia formed in 1998. Their music is a powerful blend of punk, cumbia, ska, hip hop and reggae, combined with social and environmental lyrics. They have collaborated in diverse musical and social projects with artists such as Manu Chao, Ska-p, Seeed, Juanes, Café Tacvba, among others.


Los Estrambóticos are pioneers and one of the main representatives of the New Ska movement in Mexico with more than 25 years of career. They are known for their high energetic shows and their skills in both composition and lyrics, infused with their ska-rock mixed with pop and ballad tones. Throughout all these years, their music has been featured and collaborated with in various tribute albums as well as been highlighted as part of soundtracks for various films.

In the past 2 editions, Üateke Rock Fest has presented stellar acts including Panteón Rococó, Haragán y Cía, Aterciopelados, Kinky, Inspector, Gondwana, Cuca and one of Uruguay’s most popular rock bands No Te Va Gustar, among others. 

This year, the festival continues its motive of expanding and bringing international and local talent in one event to different major cities.
