The Kitschy Molotov Approach to Punk from Mexico City’s De Nalgas

Although we would never consider Mexican rock band De Nalgas the new ambassadors of punk (as stated in the press release below) we do find their music, which engages a low-brow and tongue-in-cheek approach, superbly on the kitschy side. They sound remarkably like a teenage Molotov (and we’re not wondering why). Is it brazen and controversial? We’ll let you decide for yourself – check out their new video for Pare De Sufrir, Pare De Mamar below.

Press Release

“The members of Mexico City punk band DE NALGAS, positioned as the new ambassadors punk and one of the most brazen rock groups in the world, premiere the controversial video ” Pare De Sufrir, Pare De Mamar.”

For the creation of this great album DE NALGAS joined Mauricio Barrientos “El Diablito”, a national television character who has the Latin world laughing at his irreverence. It was only a matter of time before these two idols would meet and create this ambitious video. The song is already raising eyebrows with their strong tongue-in-cheek criticism on the tiresome new wave of hollow pop heroes, heresies, and millennial clichés. لعبه البوكر لعبه البوكر

This explosive and uncomfortable video comes just a few days after releasing their sophomore album “Vulgar Dulce Hogar.” The album is produced by Paco Ayala from Molotov and was recorded in Topetitud, Mexico. The cover art is from the genius of legendary illustrator Winston Smith (Dead Kennedys, Green Day, and Tijuana No).

A rock and roll dream team came together for the album which has already become a pivoting point for a new generation of rock fans fed up with the social problems of the continent. This video is directed by Mauricio Barrientos “El Diablito”, who put his overwhelming imprint on the project by mixing the song’s rhythms and powerful lyrics with profane images of the Catholic religion mixed with familiar faces.

“It’s kind of weird that so many bands are doing very psychedelic stuff, very funny, very experimental. It seems incredible that they can put together 200 musicians on a record and sing to shooting stars and galaxies when your neighbors are being assaulted every day. It’s frustrating! We wanted to reflect that, everything is very bad, everything is out of control. العب روليت اون لاين There are people who prefer to be at Snapchat than to do something with their life, and it’s like, wow! سباق خيل ” Says vocalist Karel.

With these important releases, DE NALGAS closes a year of success that has led them to the most important festivals in the country (Vive Latino, Coordenada, etc.) and to tour for the first time in the United States with Molotov as well as on their own.”
