Ratas de Dos Patas brings you laughs, cultura (culture), and corazón (heart) with a Día de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) film. The ALTA award-winning group inspires viewers by portraying four empowering femmes of Latinx history and honors the sacred holiday using their signature style of teaching through humor and intersectionality. Ratas de Dos Patas’ first-ever short film will debut on October 30 on their new YouTube Channel.
“We want to teach how Día de Los Muertos connects us to our ancestors in a beautiful and empowering way,” said Jessi Realzola, cast member. “We also hope that featuring the revolutionary act of womxn telling their own stories inspires viewers to keep fighting oppression and be fierce in the face of these challenging times.”
The featurette will also be raising money for Black Lives Matter and RAICES (legal services and resources for immigrants and refugees). Viewers can send donations to the Ratas de Dos Patas Venmo @RatasDe-DosPatas.
Ratas de Dos Patas is a group of four boss Latinas that entertain and educate you through explosive characters and everything bien (very) fierce. They are Kendra Jamaica, Marilet Martinez, Abigail Piñon, and Jessi Realzola. Luis Roberto Castelló guest stars in this film as La Muerte (Death).
