Latino Hollywood community reacts to actor Paul Walker’s passing

It was confirmed Saturday night that actor Paul Walker died in a car accident at the age of 40. Walker, who got his big break in 2001 with the first “Fast and Furious” movie of the franchise, also starred in such films as “Pleasantville,” “Varsity Blues” and “Flags of Our Fathers.” His most recent film, “Hours,” which also stars actress Genesis Rodriguez, will hit theaters Dec. 13. The film is being distributed by Pantelion Films, a branch at Lionsgate that caters to Latino audiences.

Along with Rodriguez, Walker has worked with a number of Latino actors over the course of his 27-year career, including Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Freddie Prinze Jr., Eva Mendes, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Alba, Jacob Vargas, J.R. Villarreal, John Ortiz, Laz Alonzo, Jay Hernandez, Don Omar, Elsa Pataky and many others.
