This year’s Latin Alternative Music Conference will take place online with bonus free registration. The event begins this Tuesday, June 9 and includes performances, workshops, interesting panels like Mental Health and Creativity or Wonder Women of Latin Music and expert advice on topics like “How to Get on the Radar” and how to use Tik Tok effectively and even the nitty gritty on things like publishing and distribution.
LAMC provides an array of viewpoints on what’s going on in Latin/alt music today and what we might expect in the future. It will be interesting to hear different perspectives on what’s next for the world of music and entertainment. The full schedule of events is below or head to LAMC for more information.
About LAMC
“Over the last 21 years, the LAMC has opened paths for Latin music and culture. What was once alternative is now the mainstream. This year, in the midst of the global standstill due to COVID-19, the world needs music more than ever and the entertainment industry needs to rise above as a collective industry. We can do it! Looking at things realistically, we have taken the decision to produce the LAMC2020 fully online this year.
We will once again include panels, workshops, showcases and networking opportunities – but all online. Given that many people in our industry are facing financial challenges, thanks to the wonderful support of our sponsors, we will be making this year’s LAMC totally free for all. Gratis! As we need to communicate now more than ever, we are also moving the conference up a month to June 9th – 13th.
LAMC founder Tomas Cookman shares, “As we face new challenges as an industry, we feel the need for the LAMC and other conferences is essential right now. Providing a forum to discuss the issues we face and the potential solutions that lie ahead is key as we look towards the future. Although the days ahead may be slightly different for a time, we should always keep in mind there is very much a future as music is a human and global emotion. We are lending our hand by making the conference free for all and having a team of professionals join us in making sure the LAMC experience is as informative and technologically seamless as can be”.
In addition to our schedule of panels, workshops and showcases, the LAMC is proud to announce our very first Wonder Women of Latin Music, presented by Amazon Music, celebrating women making a difference in the industry. The initiative will be integrated into this year’s conference with recognitions, as well as a special panel discussion.
“Latin music has more global influence than ever before, so it’s crucially important that we spotlight and recognize the women artists and executives who have driven this movement,” says Rocío Guerrero, Global Head of Latin Music for Amazon Music. “Amazon Music and LAMC have long been dedicated to supporting the women whose hard work has made Latin music a global phenomenon, which is why we’re thrilled to present the very first Wonder Women of Latin Music awards at this year’s conference.”
Jose Tillan and Pop Garage (producer of Latin GRAMMYs, MTV Music Awards, Premios Juventud, MTV Unplugged, etc.) have come on board to work with our team of professionals to undertake this week-long adventure. We will be sharing schedules and more news shortly about LAMC2020. We hope you can join us. No travel, hotel plans or even money needed.”
