Founded by members of the popular 90’s group El Manjar de los Dioses, the alternative rock band Circo has returned from an extended hiatus to give us a taste of the sound that garnered them multiple Latin Grammy and Premio Lo Nuestro nominations during their rise to fame in the early 2000’s, with hits like “Un Accidente,” “Antes Del Fin,” and “Un Cascaron.”
On their time off as a band, members Fofe, David, Orlando, and Eddie have remained in close contact and have individually collaborated with each other on different projects, as well as with notable artists such as Cultura Profetica, Draco Rosa, Jorge Drexler, Calle 13, Pedro Capo, Ozuna, and Trending Topics. Now, in May 2020, Circo returns to us with a series of singles: “La Tormenta,” “Tantos Años, and “Las Joyas,” which have led up to the release of their new album ”¡Adiós, Hola!” Now available on all digital platforms!
Now, as part of their return, we had the opportunity to speak to Circo’s lead singer Fofe, drummer David, and guitarist Orlando. Below is a translation of that interview. For it’s original in Spanish, click here.
Hola Fofe, David and Orlando. How are you spending your quarantine? Are you guys in Puerto Rico?
Fofe: Hola! Yes, we’re in Puerto Rico. Well each of us in our own home and we’ve kept busy because when the quarantine began as we were finishing up our album “¡Adiós, Hola!” We were finishing the song “Tantos Años,” and proceeding with the mix and mastering. That kept us very busy while also working remotely, each of us in our respective homes.
Orlando is an engineer and was in charge of some of the mixes, along with our friend Harold W. Sanders. We connected with one another through a program designed specifically for this purpose and, through it, we finished up the last details of the album and now we’ve been moving forward with its launch and promotion. Outside of that, well eating, watching TV, sleeping a lot, and partaking in the culinary arts (everyone laughs).
I’m happy to hear that. So, it’s been 13 years since we last heard from Circo and now you’ve surprised us with your new album “¡Adiós, Hola!” I was reading that the production began last summer (2019) and I imagine that it was a difficult time with natural disasters and difficulties on the island. How difficult was it for you to work under those conditions, especially after not returning to the studio together in over a decade? And, what inspired the new album?
David: Well, between us, although we had not recorded together, we always shared ideas, including motivational projects by people that we liked, art that we liked, as encouragement for one another, and to flirt with ideas. Then suddenly melodies began to take form, and something was recorded. But, nothing formal, until now. Which is what we began last summer.
That’s interesting because it brings me to another question which many of your fans might have for you, or have asked you. What have you done during your time apart? Did you collaborate in other bands? Make music?
Fofe: Well 13 years went by and we barely noticed. We announced our indefinite separation in 2009. At that time, we did that in order to take on new experiences, to partake in other life experiences that we had not lived thus far, but we were also involved in other distinct projects, including musical projects for film or contemporary dance. David, for example, immersed himself as both producer and composer of an annual creative project here in Puerto Rico, a Christmas special including songs from different artists in a variety of genres. David has also worked with many artists and musicians like Pedro Capó, Jorge Drexler, Calle 13 and others. Eddie, our keyboardist, worked on projects with Draco Rosa, Cultura Profetica, and, most recently, Ozuna. Orlando has been working as sound engineer in some of the most important venues in the country, as well as recording engineer on other projects, including some of those in which David was involved.
David: You and I also made a lot of music for various contemporary dance projects.
Fofe: Yes! David collaborates a great deal with a group of Puerto Rican actors and comedians named “Teatro Breve” and they have a lot of fun together. On some occasions they invite me to do sketch comedy, haha. On another occasion I developed a project a named “Fofe y los Fetiches,” under which I recorded two albums, “El Lujo Eterno” and “La Juventud.” They’re both on various [streaming] platforms. We also did some piano concerts as soloists. We’ve all been involved in different projects, some of us travelling more than others, but we have kept very busy during this time [apart as a band].
One way or another, art, culture, and music have been present and, if I’m not mistaken, Fofe, a few days ago you sent all of your Instagram followers a message saying that this album, “¡Adiós, Hola!” was an artistic endeavor that was developed amongst protests, natural disasters, the pandemic we are living through now, and the quarantine, etc. All this has a historic and important significance. And, now, more than ever, I think art in any of its forms is necessary to help keep us afloat, strong, and mentally sound.
David: Sane!
Yes! More than anything… “sane.” Because right now some of us are fortunate enough to stay at home, while so many others must go out and work. Nevertheless, there is a sense of anxiety in all of us. Some of us question, “What will happen? What’s next?” And, music is an escape for many of us, it sets us at ease. For example, your first single “La Tormenta” feels very emotional, but at the same time it is a strong and timeless and, like what we are experiencing now, it is very intense, like a storm.
David: Regarding this, I think that in a way art creates a shell that makes us stronger. And it keeps our minds occupied, always creating, and experimenting, leading you to think: “I’ve invested time in this like I normally do, a normal process but, for those who may not normally have these inclinations, I think it gives us a super power. Not literally, but it’s as if the time that we put into that becomes good vibes, better health, and all these types of emotions that we need.
Fofe: In moments like these, of crisis where we are all experiencing anxiety, anxiousness, uncertainty over our futures, many people because of their jobs, their businesses, their way of making a living, we are all going through real change, drastic changes, and music, like any other form of art, serves as an escape valve through which we can see ourselves in these songs, and artistic expressions, and in one way or another escape this anxiety and uncertainty, and travel within our own emotions and those feelings that we have all.
As artists, we’re blessed, we’ve been given the gift of expressing ourselves through our art and music and we can serve as a mirror for others, so that we can all feel together, we can accompany one another in these times because we all have these emotions, these profound feelings. Love is one emotion and feeling that we all share in times like these. And, “La Tormenta” is that song, an intimate song that doesn’t care if you are surrounded by others or all alone. You feel that it is speaking to you and puts you in direct connection with your feelings and your inner strength. We understand this type of song and that is why we decided to open our album with it. It creates the right environment to receive what the other songs [on the album] have to offer.
As you say, this pandemic is changing the way we see the world. The way that we do things and I think it will also change the way we enjoy music. For example, live concerts where you interact with people, in the same space. And, when you are in a concert, you experience different vibes with the rest of the people there. How do you see the situation for music during these times? We know that it will still be some time before we are able to see each other, be close to one another, even less so in a concert setting. As musicians, how do you see the future of live music?
David: I believe that it is a difficult time to see [one another], give each other a hug, etc. but it is a normal time to feel and I think that, at least for us, it served us say let’s launch it (the new music), maybe we can use this to our favor, and “La Tormenta” was right for that because it lends itself to these times.
Fofe: Yes, these are times of change. They are times that we are experiencing in different ways. In music, we really miss that human contact, directly with the public, to feel their warmth, and for them to feel our warmth on stage, as well as that energy transmitted in a live concert. That is an experience that we value more now that we have been deprived of it, and we realize how beautiful and valuable that is. Meanwhile, this is a time that brings challenges and possibilities for contact with our public, our fans, through social media; the ability to receive messages of admiration through Instagram, YouTube, where people can write us what they feel with our music.
What I am trying to say is that the exchange between musician and the public has not stopped, and that is something that we value and enjoy a great deal. The ability to read everyone’s comments, reactions to our songs, how they enjoy them, their creative expression when they send me a video singing one of our songs or applying makeup in a way to match the theme of our song. There are so many interestingly creative and impressive ways that people find to express themselves. That gives a beauty to this process from which we all find a way to not fall, and continue existing, and to continue living with passion and with many desires to conserve life.
Something interesting that you are doing now with this new album is that you decided to release a single weekly, with a launch festival on May 28, to listen to the album in its entirety. Was this decision made before the quarantine or after? Why did you decide to do it this way?
Fofe: This was a decision that we took along with our team. It was a decision taken together to open a path toward our new material and our return after so many years and it was important to give people content during this month so that they could realize that we are seriously here and we have returned to continue making music as long as life will permit us to.
A more technical question for you. When you began recording again, was it difficult to connect, play, compose and write this material? Or was that connection you still had after so many years enough for the process to flow naturally?
Orlando: It flowed nicely, as we mentioned before, we never stopped seeing each other or working together. It wasn’t like we lost contact with one another and suddenly became rusty. It flowed well and the only thing we really had to change was how we worked together, now do things through the internet, and things like that. And, like anything, there are songs that flow more easily and others that require more work, which is normal, like anything.
Fofe: As Orlando says, there are some songs that require more work than others, but that chemistry between us was a chemistry that we had also missed. Working together [again] was an emotional and enriching experience because we admire each other’s talent and trust in in one another’s’ abilities, and we are constantly challenging each other. We enjoy games where we challenge one another’s quality, levels of composition. After being apart for so long, we once again found that opportunity, where we healed. Where each of us was able to express his talent and artistic urges in the best way possible. We have completed what we wanted with the music, obviously complementing it with each of our talents, and we are happy with the final result. It is an album that is very complete, that covers a range of emotions and feelings, of atmospheric rhythms which are immensely entertaining, and with which the world will feel identified.
That’s wonderful to hear. Is there a particular reason that you named the album “!Adiós, Hola!”? It sounds like both a greeting and a farewell.
David: Aside from the obvious, I think the title is also a farewell to that creative pause and it says “welcome” to those creative processes that we are retaking as a band. We can also visualize it as a “farewell” to all the toxicity in the world, while giving a welcome to the lives we should lead or should always be involved with.
Clearly, like giving space to the future. Perhaps to what is to come, to positive things, things that make us better human beings. Welcoming new things, persons, and situations; like the one we are living today.
Fofe: Exactly! New ways of life, new ways of existence.
As you mentioned, this pandemic we are living through is also an opportunity for learning, to accept, create and move forward.
Fofe: There’s no alternative but to move forward. We aren’t going to live our entire lives in fear! We need to continue and adapt to the times and the times should also adapt to what we can give as human beings. And, here it is. We are saying goodbye to the old ways of existence and we are saying hello to the new challenges ahead, to the new adventures that will come.
Well to bring things to a close. Returning to this quarantine, I’d like to know what your recommendations are. What are you watching? What are you listening to? What are you reading? Or, what are you doing to spend this time?
David: Well, I must confess something, hahaha. I’m sleeping like the chickens. In Puerto Rico we say that people sleep like chickens when they go to bed early. I go to bed early. At 10pm I’m already “out of service” but I’m waking up at 5am, 6am latest, and the first thing I do is run, and when I get back I watch an episode of a series I’ve been watching, “Black Mirror”
Fofe: Just something on the light side for the pandemic! Hahaha! (Responding to David’s answer).
David: Of course! On top of that the pandemic… and after that I would spend sometime practicing or creating and that’s how I will spend most of my days. Practicing and trying to maintain a sense of normality of what we had before.
I must confess, I wasn’t able to continue Black Mirror after the first episode. I just couldn’t!
David: There are some that are hard to watch. Seriously, there are some that are just too much.
Yes, they were intense.
Fofe: They can be frightening!
Orlando: I loved all of them! But I’ve spent my time producing and mixing in my home studio. I entertain myself most with that.
And you Fofe?
Fofe: In my case, sometimes, not always, but sometimes. I escape my home at 6am. I live close to the beach and a lagoon. مراهنات رياضية So, I sometimes escape in the mornings and I go swimming and I come across the manatees, and fish, because there are so many fish and sea life. I greet all the sea life, fish, manatees, and manta rays and then I return home. Usually what I watch at home are movies. The latest movie I saw was “How To Kill A Sacred Deer.” It’s an intense movie. I’ve also watched some series and the one I recommend most is “Babylon Berlin” on Netflix. I’ve watched it in its entirety. And, I also like to cook and barbecue. I’ve barbecued with friends that I live with. I at least have a community of three or four people and I share my time with these intimate friends and family. And, obviously, when David sends me something, a musical curiosity or idea, well I start writing lyrics for it. We’ve already begun work for the next album. So little by little it’s taking shape and that’s how I keep busy.

CIRCO REGRESA CON “¡ADIÓS, HOLA!”
Fundado por miembros del grupo popular de los 90’s, El Manjar de los Dioses, la banda Circo ha regresado después de una ausencia prolongada para entregarnos ese sonido de rock alternativo que los llevo a recibir varias nominaciones a los Latin Grammy’s y Premios Lo Nuestro durante los inicios de los años 2000. Esta fama se atribuye a éxitos como “Un Accidente,” “Antes Del Fin,” y “Un Cascaron.” Durante su descanso como banda, los miembros Fofe, David, Orlando y Eddie han mantenido una fuerte amistad y han colaborado individualmente con artistas como Cultura Profetica, Draco Rosa, Jorge Drexler, Calle 13, Pedro Capo, Ozuna, y Trending Topics. Ahora en el mes de Mayo del 2020 Circo regresa para presentarnos una serie de sencillos: “La Tormenta,” “Tantos Años, “Las Joyas,” para dar la bien venida a su nuevo álbum “¡Adiós, Hola!” Ya disponible en todas las plataformas de costumbre.
Ahora, como parte de su regreso, tuvimos la oportunidad de conversar con cantante el vocalista Fofe, percusionista David, y el guitarrista Orlando.
Hola Fofe, David Y Orlando. ¿Como están? ¿Como están pasando su cuarentena? ¿Están en Puerto Rico?
Fofe: ¡Hola! Si, estamos en Puerto Rico. Estamos pues cada uno en sus casas y por lo menos estamos bastante ocupados porque cuando comenzó la cuarentena nosotros estábamos terminando el disco ¡Adiós Hola! Estábamos terminando de grabar una de las canciones, “Tantos Años” y luego de eso comenzamos a hacer el proceso de mezcla y de masterización que nos mantuvo bastante ocupados trabajando de manera remota. Cada uno en su casa. Orlando es ingeniero, estuvo a cargo de algunas de las mezclas junto a Harold W. Sanders un amigo y nos conectábamos a través de un programa que hay especial de grabación y por ahí hemos estado trabajando en terminar los últimos detalles del disco y ahora haciéndole frente a todo el proceso de lanzamiento y de promoción. Fuera de eso, pues comiendo, viendo televisión durmiendo mucho y dándole pa’abajo a todas esas series y a las artes culinarias. (risas de todos)
Me alegra escuchar que están bien. Oigan, hace 13 años que no escuchábamos música de Circo y pues nos han dado la grata sorpresa con ¡Adiós, Hola! su nuevo disco. Estaba leyendo que el proceso de producción comenzó desde el verano del 2019 y me supongo que fueron momentos difíciles ya que en ese tiempo estuvieron los terremotos y hubo muchas dificultades allá en la isla ¿Qué tan difícil fue para ustedes trabajar en esas condiciones además de que regresan al estudio después de hace mas de una década y que fue lo que los inspiro hacer este nuevo disco?
David: Entre nosotros, aunque no habíamos echo discos y así per se pues si nos enviábamos ideas, incluso compartíamos inspiración de gente que nos gusta. Arte que nos gustaba, como incentivándonos entre nosotros, como un coqueteo. De repente salían melodías y se grababa algo, pero nada tan estructurado como hasta ahora, que fue que lo logramos hacer desde el verano pasado como tu bien dijiste.
Me parece interesante lo que mencionas por que me lleva una pregunta que quizás muchos de sus seguidores tienen, quizás se lo preguntan, digo yo misma me lo pregunte y mas que nada es ¿Que estuvieron haciendo durante el tiempo que no estuvieron juntos? ¿Alternaron en algún otro grupo? ¿Haciendo música?
Fofe: Bueno, pasaron 13 anos y nosotros casi no nos dimos ni cuenta. Nosotros hicimos el anuncio de nuestra separación indefinida en el 2009. En esa época pues lo hicimos para enfrentarnos a otras experiencias, para tener otras experiencias de vida que nos hacían faltaba vivir, pero estuvimos envueltos en distintos otros proyectos. Trabajando desde proyectos musicales para películas o para espectáculos de danza contemporánea. David por ejemplo estuvo inmerso como productor y compositor principal de un proyecto artístico que se hace en Puerto Rico todos los anos que es un especial navideño donde se graban canciones de distintos artistas en distintos géneros. También David ha estado trabajando con muchos otros artistas, músicos como Pedro Capó, Jorge Drexler, Calle 13 y muchos mas. Eddie, el tecladista estuvo trabajando también en otros proyectos musicales como con Draco Rosa, Cultura Profética y Ozuna recientemente. Orlando ha estado trabajando como Ingeniero de sonido en los principales venues del país, también como ingeniero de grabación en otras producciones y también trabajaba con David en muchos de estos proyectos que David estaba involucrado.
David: Tu y yo también estuvimos haciendo música para danza contemporánea en varias ocasiones.
Fofe: ¡Si! David también colabora mucho con un grupo de actores puertorriqueños y comediantes que se llama ‘Teatro Breve’ y se divierten mucho. En algunas ocasiones yo soy invitado de ellos para hacer algún sketch de comedia jajajaja. En otro caso pues yo desarrolle un proyecto que se llama ‘Fofe y los Fetiches’ con quien grabe dos discos uno de ellos se llama ‘El Lujo Eterno’ y el otro ‘La Juventud’ los pueden checar por ahí en distintas plataformas. Y así, también estuvimos haciendo unos conciertos de piano como solista. En fin, cada uno de nosotros estuvimos involucrados en diferentes proyectos, algunos viajando mas que otros, pero hemos estado bastante ocupados durante todo este tiempo.
De alguna manera el arte, la cultura, la música ha estado ahí presente y si no me equivoco Fofe, hace unos días estabas enviando un mensaje a todos sus seguidores por medio de Instagram en el que decías que este trabajo ¡Adiós, Hola! Fue un trabajo artístico que se cocino entre protestas, temblores, la pandemia que vivimos ahora, la cuarentena, etc. Y que todo esto tiene un sentimiento histórico e importante. Hoy mas que nunca, creo que el arte en cualquiera de sus formas es muy necesario para mantenernos a flote, fuertes, con salud mental.
David: ¡Cuerdos!
¡Claro! sobre todo cuerdos, porque ahorita pues somos algunos de los afortunados que podemos quedarnos en casa, hay otros tantos que tienen que salir a trabajar. Sin embargo, en todos existe esta sensación de ansiedad. Algunos nos cuestionamos ¿Qué va a pasar? ¿Qué va a seguir? Y la música es un escape para muchos, nos relaja, etc. Por ejemplo, su primer sencillo ‘La Tormenta’ me parece muy sentimental, pero al mismo tiempo una canción muy fuerte, muy atemporal como lo que estamos viviendo en estos momentos es muy intenso, como una tormenta.
David: Concerniente a este comentario. Lo del arte yo lo pienso de alguna manera que nos crea como un caparazón que nos hace mas fuertes. Incluso nos mantiene la mente ocupada, en creación, y en experimentación la cual de repente tu dices: ‘He invertido el tiempo como quizás normal lo hago, en un proceso normal, pero de repente los que no poseen quizás esas inclinaciones, yo creo que nos da unos súper poderes. Aunque no es literal, pero como que ese tiempo lo invertimos en eso y se vuelve en buenas vibras, mas salud y todo este tipo de sentimientos que necesitamos.
Fofe: En momentos como este, de crisis donde todos estamos experimentando ansiedad, angustia, incertidumbre sobre cual va a ser nuestro futuro. Mucha gente verdad por los negocios que tienen, los distintos trabajos, la manera de subsistir de cada cual, cada uno esta experimentando el proceso de cambio verdad, y de cambios drásticos como este que ha caído este la música al igual que cualquier otra vertiente del arte sirve como válvula de escape para que nosotros vernos reflejados en las canciones y en las expresiones artísticas y de alguna manera pues salir de la angustia y de la incertidumbre y viajar un poco dentro de las mismas emociones y de los mismos sentimientos que todos tenemos. Nosotros los artistas tenemos la bendición, podemos decir o el regalo del universo que podemos expresar eso a través de nuestro arte y de la música y podemos servirle de espejo a las personas para que nos sintamos juntos, para acompañarnos en todas estas etapas porque son emociones que todos sentimos, emociones profundas, el amor es una emoción y un sentimiento que todos compartimos en momentos como este. Y ‘La Tormenta’ es esa canción, esa canción intima que no importa si estas rodeado de gente o si estas solo tu sientes que te esta hablando a ti y te pone en conexión directa con tus sentimientos, con tus emociones, con tu fuerza interior. Nosotros entendemos este tipo de canción y por eso fue por lo que seleccionamos abrir el disco con ella, se da un ambiente propicio para poder recibir lo que se avecina en las demás canciones.
Como bien dices, esta pandemia nos esta cambiando la manera en que vemos el mundo. La manera en la que hacemos las cosas y creo que va también a cambiar mucho la manera en la que disfrutábamos la música, por ejemplo, los conciertos en vivo, cuando interactúas con gente, estas en un mismo espacio, cuando estas en un concierto se viven diferente vibras con el resto de las personas. ¿Cómo ven la situación de la música en estos tiempos pandémicos? مواقع مراهنات كرة القدم Sabemos que falta todavía un rato para vernos y poder estar cerca, no se diga pensar en un concierto. ¿Como músicos, como ven el futuro de la música en vivo?
David: Yo creo que es un momento difícil de ver, de abrazarnos que se yo pero es un momento normal para sentir y yo creo que por lo menos a nosotros nos funciona decir como que mira, vamos a lanzarlo, podemos utilizar esto a nuestro favor quizás y obviamente la tormenta ayudaba porque se ajustaba a estos tiempos.
Fofe: Si son tiempos de cambio, son tiempos que estamos experimentando todos de distintas maneras de trabajar. Nosotros en la música realmente extrañamos ese contacto carne con carne, directo con el publico sentir su sudor, su calor y de que ellos puedan sentir nuestro calor en el escenario y esa energía que se da en un concierto en vivo. Es una experiencia que hoy día valoramos mas ya que estamos privado de ello y nos damos cuenta de lo bonito que es, de lo valioso que es ese momento, pero a la misma vez es una época que nos trae unos retos y otras posibilidades de contacto como en el caso de las redes sociales que han servido para mantener un contacto directo nuestra gente, con nuestros fans, con la gente que escucha la música. Poder recibir muestras de cariño de manera directa a nuestras cuentas de Instagram, YouTube, las personas pueden escribirnos directamente lo que sienten con las canciones. Lo que quiero decir es que no deja de haber un intercambio entre el músico y el publico, y eso es algo que estamos valorando mucho y que estamos disfrutando también. Poder leer los comentarios de todos ustedes, de como están sintiendo las canciones, como las disfrutan, las expresiones creativas también cuando de repente me graban algún video cantando la canción o maquillándose con el tema, hay muchas maneras creativas interesantes y muy impresionantes en las cuales la gente busca la forma de expresarse y eso le da belleza a este proceso por donde cada uno vamos buscando la forma de no dejarnos caer y de seguir existiendo, seguir viviendo con pasión y con muchos deseos de preservar la vida.
Algo que me pareció bien interesante que están haciendo ahorita con su nuevo disco es que decidieron lanzar sencillos semanales, como un tipo festival de lanzamiento y el 28 de mayo vamos a poder escuchar ya el álbum completo. ¿Fue esta una decisión tomada antes o después de que comenzara la cuarentena? ¿Por que decidieron hacerlo así?
Fofe: Esta fue una decisión que tomamos con nuestro equipo de trabajo, la gente de la buena fortuna. Fue una decisión que tomamos juntos para ir abriendo camino hacia nuestro nuevo material, también es un regreso de nuestro nuevo material después de tantos anos que no estábamos juntos como banda y para nosotros fue importante darles contenido a las personas durante todo este mes para que así se den cuenta de que en serio estamos aquí y que estamos de vuelta para seguir haciendo música hasta que la vida nos lo permita.
La siguiente pregunta es un poco mas técnica ¿Cuándo estaban grabando en el estudio, se les hizo complicado acoplarse al ponerse a tocar, componer, escribir crear este material? o esta conexión que ya tienen de muchos años los ayudo a que este proceso fuera un poco mas suelto y que el proceso fluyera de manera mas natural?
Orlando: Fluyo bien, como mencionamos anteriormente nunca nos dejamos de ver y trabajar juntos, no fue que nos dejamos de ver y que de repente estuviéramos medios mohosos. Fluyo bastante bien y lo único que pues al pasar todas estas cosas tuvimos que cambiar la manera de trabajar y hacer sosas vía internet y ese tipo de cosas. Y como todo, hay canciones que fluyen mas rápidas y otras que hay que trabajarlas mas, normal como todo.
Fofe: Por otro lado, como dice Orlando unas canciones hay que trabajarlas mas que otras, pero la química que hay entre nosotros, es una química que nosotros extrañábamos. Trabajar juntos fue un proceso muy emotivo y enriquecedor porque nosotros admiramos los talentos de cada cual y confiamos en lo que cada uno puede dar y constantemente nos estamos retando los unos a los otros. Nos gusta también ese tipo de juegos de retarnos entre nosotros, los niveles de calidad, los niveles de composición, después de tanto tiempo que no estábamos juntos pues se dio esta oportunidad donde nos curamos. Donde cada uno ha podido expresar sus talentos y sus inquietudes artísticas de la mejor manera. Hemos hecho lo que hemos querido hacer con la música, obviamente complementándola con los talentos de cada uno y estamos muy contentos con eso y con el resultado final. Es un disco muy completo que recorre una gama de emociones y de sentimientos de ritmos de atmosferas que te entretienen muchísimo y con las cuales todo el mundo de va a poder sentir identificado.
Es bonito escuchar eso. Alguna razón en particular por la que decidieron llamarlo ¡Adiós, Hola! Me suena como a una despedida, sin embargo, sigues saludando a alguien.
David: Yo creo que el nombre además de lo evidente también pone muestra ese adiós a esa pausa creativa y le dice hola a esos procesos creativos que ya estamos retomando como grupo. Además de que lo podemos visualizar como el adiós a todo eso toxico y diciéndole un hola a todas esas vidas que debemos tener o que debemos siempre estar envueltos.
Claro, como dando la pauta al futuro, a lo mejor, a lo que viene, cosas positivas, cosas que nos hacen mejores seres humanos. Dándole la bienvenida a nuevas cosas, personas, situaciones, como lo que vivimos hoy, por ejemplo.
Fofe: ¡Exacto! Nuevas maneras de vivir, nuevas formas de existir.
Como mencionaron hace rato. Esta pandemia esta pasando, pero son momentos de aprendizaje y de darles la bienvenida en lugar de rehusarnos. Aceptar, crear, y seguir.
Fofe: No queda alternativa mas que seguir adelante. ¡No vamos a vivir la vida completa en miedo! Tenemos que seguir adelante y adaptarnos a los tiempos y que los tiempos se adapten también a lo que nosotros podemos dar como seres humanos y ¡aquí esta! Decimos adiós a las viejas maneras de existir y decimos hola a los nuevos retos y a las nuevas aventuras que vengan por ahí.
Bueno, para concluir. Regreso a lo de la cuarentena obligatoria, pero me gustaría saber cuales son las recomendaciones de cada uno. ¿Qué están viendo? ¿Qué están escuchando? ¿Qué están leyendo? ¿Qué hacen para pasar el rato?
David: Pues mira yo me voy a confesar aquí. Jajajaja. Yo me estoy durmiendo como las gallinas. En Puerto Rico decimos que la gente se duerme como gallinas porque es cuando la gente se duerme muy temprano. Yo me acuesto muy temprano, a las 10 de la noche yo ya estoy olvídate “out of service” pero me estoy levantando como a las 5 de la mañana 6 mas tardar y lo primero que hago es que corro, voy y cuando llego veo un capitulo de una serie que estaba viendo que se llama ‘Black Mirror’
Fofe: ¡Casi nada para la pandemia, jajajajaja!
David: Claro! Encima la pandemia… y después de eso lo que hacia era como que me sentaba a practicar o a inventar y así paso mayor parte del tiempo del día. Practicando y mas o menos tratar de mantener la normalidad de lo que venia siendo antes.
Yo confieso que no pude ver ‘Black Mirror’ después del tercer capitulo… ¡no se! No pude.
David: Hay unos que no se pueden ver. De verdad hay unos que no se pueden ver.
Si, estaban muy intensos.
Fofe: ¡Asustan, asustan!
Orlando: ¡Uy, a mi me encantaron todos! Y nada por acá, yo pues me pongo a producir y a mezclar en mi estudio en mi casa. Yo me entretengo mas en eso.
¿Y tu Fofe?
Fofe: En mi caso hay veces, no siempre que me escapo de madrugada a las 6 de la mañana. Yo vivo cerca de una playa y de una laguna. ماكينات القمار A veces me escapo por la mañana y nado, hago una rutina de natación, me encuentro con los manatíes, peces, y la vida marítima. Saludo a todas las vidas marítimas, a los peces, las cucuas, los manatíes, las mantarrayas, y regreso a la casa. Normalmente lo que veo son películas, estaba viendo unas películas, series, la película mas reciente que vi fue ‘How to Kill a Sacred Deer’ es una película bastante intensa, he visto también algunas series la que mas recomiendo es una serie llamada ‘Babylon Berlin’ esta en Netflix la vi completa, pero también he disfrutado y dándole rienda suelta a mis dotes culinarios, y a la barbacoa. He aprovechado para hacer barbacoa con los amigos cercanos que compartimos, yo vivo con varias amistades por lo menos yo tengo una vida como de comuna somos como tres o cuatro y comparto entre amigos íntimos y familia la mayor parte del tiempo. Y obviamente cuando David me envía algo, alguna inquietud musical o alguna idea pues me entretengo escribiéndole la letra o trabajando sobre ello. Ya estamos empezando a trabajar para el próximo disco así que poquito a poquito por ahí vamos dándole forma y ahí me voy entreteniendo.
Muy bien, bueno pues vamos a estar a la espera del disco completo ¡Adiós, Hola! Les quiero agradecer mucho por su tiempo, por la platica. Cuídense mucho, gracias por sus palabras y por estar de regreso. Saber que están de vuelta nos hace muy felices.
