Nominated for a Shock Award from shock.com.co—a premier music site for avid Latin American readers, musicians, and fans of good music—Rah, a music engineer, producer, DJ, and guitarist, talked with me outside of Tammany Hall in New York City during the Latin Alternative Music Conference. He told me about his most recent project: El Reino del Mar (Kingdom of the Sea). We sat outside on a stoop to discuss the relationship among art, politics and beats. I thoroughly enjoyed asking Rah questions about his native Colombia, his artistic collaborations and more.
