Interview: Alex Marrero of Brown Sabbath

When we first heard about Brownout presents Brown Sabbath, we weren’t quite sure how it could possibly work out. But experiencing it live at Austin’s Pachanga Fest–Alex Marrero strutting and jiving in a brown poncho and huaraches, or red guayabera with matching pants (yes, bright red matching pants), fronting Brownout’s super talented and versatile border psych rock jazzers, all the while doing super-funky horn-heavy and percussion-driven covers of early Black Sabbath tunes at Pachanga Festival–well, we’re true believers now. Check the convo with Alex to find out how the magic happened and don’t miss their upcoming Chicago performance.

Brownout presents Brown Sabbath will perform at the Double Door on August 13.
