Looking for a good comedy spot for date night? If you’d prefer something a little more upscale than the small theaters with little to no menu options found in the city, take a drive out to Schaumburg for a night of laughs and a delicious meal at Improv Comedy Club. Located at Woodfield Mall, this suburban comedy venue hosts big name comedians on most Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. You’ll find that most shows at this venue feature more well-known, established comedians than you’d find at small comedy clubs. Past weekend headliners include Tracy Morgan, Gabriel Iglesias, and Bob Saget. Most headliners offer two shows on Friday and Saturday nights, the first of which usually starts around 8:00 pm and includes dinner in the spacious showroom. These dinner showcases run between $20 to $40 per person, not including the price of dinner. Their moderately priced menu carries typical American fare such as salads, sandwiches and burgers, but by no means is it bar food. They also offer a selection of entree and pasta options if you’re in the mood for more sophisticated fare. A burger and fries will set you back about $9, while the prime rib comes in at around $18. For the diners, the showroom opens 1 ½ hours before showtime to allow you time to enjoy your meal before the show begins. Take a peek at their menu!
If their menu doesn’t suit your taste buds, there are plenty of other dining options in the area. The second show begins around 10 pm, so you can enjoy a leisurely dinner and perhaps a few drinks before heading over to the comedy club. Just remember, tickets to the later show still require a two drink minimum, so keep that in mind when dining beforehand. A quick drive around Perimeter Drive, the outer ring road surrounding Woodfield Mall, will give you a plethora of dining options. All of the larger dine-in restaurants have a separate outdoor entrance, so battling strollers and mall walkers shouldn’t be an issue.
