Flo & Santos in the South Loop

Pizza, Sandwiches, and a slew of appetizer. Flo & Santos has exactly what you need. My brother wanted a place to get a good slice of pizza and of course I suggested Flo & Santos. We arrived to a place that seemed to have more of pub-like atmosphere. So getting comfortable was no difficult task. The menu had so many delicious choices; I felt a need to tongue the menu itself. They offered many old favorites such as Italian beef, chicken wings, and Italian sausage. Surprisingly, the menu featured many Polish delicacies like pierogis, potato pancakes, and Polska kielbasa.

After much deliberation, we decided to make our order. We decided to sample a large thin crust sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza. Also we had some onion rings with some Flying Pork wings. The pizza had pepperonis that were the diameter and width of silver dollars. So if you love thick pepperonis on your pizza, this is your place. The sausage and mushrooms were so soft and tender you can gum them if you see a reason to do so. The savory sauce and the thick seasoned cheese made the pizza complete. One piece of criticism comes from the burnt crust, but who eats the crust anyway? If anything, it adds to the character of the pizza.

The onion rings were crispy and accompanied with Campfire and Polish dipping sauces. I’m always a fan of onion rings and the sauces make this appetizer so much more delicious. The Flying Pork Wings were, without a doubt, a fistful of awesomeness. If your watching your waistline this dish is not recommended. This is the first time I had pork wings but it may not be the last. You may find yourself regretting ingesting large quantities of pork. Your taste buds will soon counteract that feeling with pure pork pleasure. If you want to sit around, watch some sports, and enjoy a PBR tall boy then come around Flo & Santos.
