DJ Bembona, Vibe Mag’s “NY Women Who Run Underground,” Lands In Chicago’s Latin Urban Scene with PUM PUM

Who: PUM PUM collective, DJs: Bembona (New York), Rae Chardonnay (Chicago), Los MaraFackas (Chicago), Hush Papi (Chicago), Live music by Dolor Folktronico.

What: East Room host PUM PUM once again this time with out of town guest, DJ Bembona. The night will feature three more local DJs spinning reggaeton, juke, hip hop, and moombahton mixes to keep you dancing. The night also serves as the debut of Dolor Folktronico, a new band fusing latin rhythms with heavy bass and synths. PUM PUM as a party provides a space for the Latin traditional scenes to mix with the urban.

Where: East Room, 2354 N Milwaukee, Chicago, IL 60647

When: Wednesday April 24, 2018. 10pm – 4:00am

Tickets: $5 at the door

Why: The Latinx music scene in Chicago is incredibly diverse and this is the party to showcase it. Bembona infuses her mixes with her afro Boricua-Panameña roots giving the audience a whirlwind of trap meets cumbia meets salsa meets the occasional politically charged sound bite. “Chicago’s Best DJ” Rae Chardonnay opened up the first above-ground PUM PUM at Harbees and has been invited back to play her selections of juke, R&B, and any surprise Latin favorites. Los MaraFackas will keep the night going with heavy bass moombahton, and reggaeton fanatic, Hush Papi, will have you singing and dancing through the night.
