DACA Preparer Training & DACA Renewal Workshops

Do you have a DACA permit that expires by March 5th or are you an ally ready to step up and support your community? The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) is holding a DACA Preparer Training for volunteers, and, along with several organizations across the state, DACA Renewal Workshops to help eligible DACA holders complete their renewal packets by the October 5th deadline.

DACA HOLDERS WHOSE PERMIT EXPIRES BETWEEN 9/5/17 and 3/5/2018

If your DACA permit expires between 9/5/17 and 3/5/2018, you can apply to renew your permit for two years. Your package must be received (not postmarked) by the USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) by the October 5th, 2017 deadline.

On Saturday, September 16th, DACA renewal workshops will be held in Chicago, Waukegan, and Aurora in a collaborative effort between ICIRR and several community organizations.

With less than 30 days to complete the renewal packet and raise the $495 renewal fee, community organizations are also raising funds to help those in need of financial assistance for the $495 renewal fee.

ALLIES! VOLUNTEER TO BE A DACA PREPARER

Allies are needed to come out in full force to train to be a volunteer DACA preparer for upcoming renewal workshops. Volunteers must attend the full training and work a four-hour shift during the renewal workshop.

ICIRR will be holding a training on Thursday, 9/14/2017, from 6pm to 7:30pm at their offices at 228 S Wabash.

Requirements to Volunteer:

1. Be at least 18 years of age

2. Commit to attend training
