Ayotzinapa Survivor Omar Garcia in Chicago This Weekend

Student activist and survivor of the Ayotzinapa student massacre Omar Garcia will be speaking at two Chicago screenings of documentaries on the military attack and disappearance of 43 Ayotzinapa students. After visiting Chicago last April as part of the Caravana43, Garcia renews an international campaign to bring justice to the victims, in light of a recent attempt to defame the students and tie them to drug cartels. Garcia will be speaking at the two following events:

“Ayotzinapa: Chronicle of a State Crime,” was written by the writers of “Rojo Amanecer,” the award-winning film on the 1968 Tlatelolco Student Massacre.

Documentary: “‘La Omisión’ Caso: Julio Cesar Mondragon”

The documentary tells the story of Julio Cesar Mondragon, the Ayotzinapa student who was tortured, murdered, and mutilated during the attack.
