Inspired by the new video by Jonny Fadez for his song, “Pasamela” I asked a few artists, DJs and musicians to share some of their favorite cannabis-related videos for this April 20th playlist and I’m not surprised Jonny’s is one of the top favorites. In addition, this playlist includes classics by Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg and Los Marijuanos, and, while some things are familiar, thanks to all of these creatives’ curiosity for sounds, you’ll also hear things you may have never heard before which are ideal for today’s uplifting, healing and feel-good spirit.
Host of Ruido on Lumpen Radio (105.5FM WLPN), Gabriel Feijoo shared a eccentricly delightful selection of songs featuring artists like Jacques Dutronc, Serg Gainsbourg and Jean Claude Vannier along with Spinetta and Ultrasonicas while Gabacho shared a cumbion by Chico Che.
Boss ass babe Janet Yvette Rodriguez of Conectarte shared fresh sounds from Cachorra, Craneo, Peggy Gou and Dj Fucci, while our boy Yayo of Las Cruxes says his fave is Gin & Juice by Snoop. Ketzal Diana chose Jiro Inagaki & Soul Media plus Black Magic Woman. Moi of Malafacha picked Quique Neira’s “Yo Planto” featuring Alborosie, songs by Clinton Fearon and “El rio de la vida” by Green Valley.
Jessica of Braided Janes loves Geslybeth’s “Lo Material” and along with Mariel ‘Gitana’ Zavala both picked Jonny’s “PasaMeLa” while El Timbales all too appropriately chose Los Marijuanos “Slangin’ Trees.” Slomo of Future Rootz shared “Smoke Two Joints” by The Toyes and our favorite international rude boy Christian Vera of Soulphonetics shared songs by Jamiroquai and Curren$y while drummer Netto of OvejaNegra and Louwop of Los Poetas chose several hits by Cypress Hill, Netto also chose Sublime and Jimmies Chicken Shack.
