Calm Palm Vapor is a unexpected treat. This two man space-indie group from the South-Side of Chicago uses textured synths, guitars, chilled vocals and down-n-dirty drums as well as the occasional electronic beat to ride out waves of anesthetic amnesia and 90’s Verve nostalgia. Inspired by Brian Eno, Neu! and Furry Animals these boys are calm and collected. Their sound drifts and floats between melodic and aetherial vocals while keeping the waters warm. They’re live performance bursts with unexpected post-punk exuberance. These dreamy dudes will sweep you away in a cloud of dizzy delight. Their catchiest ditty, Run The Tables cracks and swills while the lazy-lull of “Hate to See You Smile” will tangle its way into your heart. Their groovy intros and trippy solos sing like 70’s chill-wave, lowfi lamentations.
