Another wonderful moment at the LAMC 2013 came when we had a chance to visit with the Mexican songstress Natalia Lafourcade–who by the way just received two Latin Grammy’s for her latest recording, Mujer Divina–a tribute album to one of the greatest Mexican composers ever, Agustín Lara.
Lara’s music defined an entire era of Twentieth-Century Mexican romanticism with universally-beloved ballads composed in the 30’s and the 40’s, and Lafourcade (who interestingly enough, grew up in Lara’s home state of Veracruz) is now successfully sharing his deep and sweet torch songs with several new generations.
Natalia Lafourcade brings the Mujer Divina tour to Chicago on December 8 at Joe’s Bar!
