It was a treat to hang with a bit with singer, composer and keyboardist Ceci Bastida from Tijuana, who just released her second album, “La Edad de la Violencia”. Bastida, now LA-based, in her early years was a pioneer punk rocker with Tijuana NO and then keyboardist for Julieta Venegas for many years. She shares with us why and how she chose to record tunes that are dark and danceable all at the same time- what she calls “a dance album for the end of times.”
Ceci Bastida plays the Celebrate Clark Street Festival Saturday, July 19 at 7pm.
