The City of Chicago Requires Bicycle Licensing

In an unprecedented move , the Chicago city council decided in a unanimous vote to require all bicyclists to acquire a special Bicyclists License effective immediately. Cyclists can expect a minimum $200 fine if found without one. Further litigation is in process to require the use of license plates and is expected to pass. This move comes as an attempt to close the budget deficit. Licenses will be priced based on individual bicycle value and can be acquired at your local DMV.
