From Medellin, Colombia, the four veteran roqueros from Estados Alterados were early innovators of electronica and rock-en-español, and as pioneers of that movement, helped define a space where urban generations in Latin America, often living violent times, began to create rock music in their own language, responding in lyrics and energy to their own difficult realities. Check the LAMC ’11 interview for the story on their new album, “Romances Científicos” (Scientific Romances- the old-fashioned term for ‘science fiction’) which was produced by Phil Vinall (Radiohead, Placebo, Zoe) and check them live here in Chicago on July 23.
