Interview: Alex Nova of Pacha Massive

We had a chance to visit with immensely talented, Dominican-born multi-instrumentalist artist, DJ and producer Nova at Pilsen’s Unisono Fest. Nova founded Pacha Massive in the Bronx in 2005, one of earliest groups in the U.S. to mix the traditional rhythms of his native land – cumbia, merengue, palos and salves, to an New York-ified eclectic electro-rap mix. Now with the vocals and songwriting of Monica Lionheart, Nova describes how they are moving into exciting new territory.
