It’s Showtime! Weeds Returns for Season 6

Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes made of ticky tacky. Little boxes on the hillside, little boxes all the same. There’s a green one and a pink and a blue one and a yellow one, and they’re all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same…

Over the first five seasons of Weeds, the Botwin Family has endured their fair share of obstacles. The sudden passing of their patriarch forced Nancy to choose a way to provide for her two sons, Shane (youngest) and Silas (oldest). Little did she know how lucrative her choice would prove to be. Even littler did she know of the dangers and events that would transpire, testing patience, creating chaos, but more importantly keeping the viewer hooked.

Season Six has the Botwin Family on the run from California to Canada after **Season Five Spoiler Alert** Shane murders the Mexican President’s main supporter/Nancy’s current number one nemesis. Oh, and did we mention that el presidente is also Nancy’s husband and the father of her infant child? Or that he may or may not run the drug game which Nancy has found herself naively conquering baby step by baby step? Or that the entire Mexican Mafia may or may not want Nancy dead? Hey, I said **Spoiler Alert**, didn’t I?

Throughout this controversial series lies an underlying theme: what does it take to make it in this life? What would you do to survive? The show is hilarious, dramatic, suspenseful, super well written, and downright brilliant, really. The cast is phenomenal. If you haven’t checked this show out, do yourself a favor: get to Blockbuster. Netflix that shit. Stream ‘em. Borrow the DVDs from a pal, whatever. Just don’t watch Season Six until you’re all caught up…it’ll be worth the wait, I promise!

But for all you Weedheads out there, the new season is finally here:

Season Premiere of Weeds:
Monday, August 16th, 9 PM CST
Showtime

  1. Sorry folks, after re-watching Season 4 over the last couple days, I realized that Nancy is actually involved with the Mayor of Tijuana, not the “Mexican President” as stated in the article. No one seemed to notice the memory lapse on my behalf, but I wanted to be clear?
