The Mollycoddles’ Halloween Concert includes two contrasting Halloween-themed works by
Chicago composers along with six other world premieres. Alex Temple’s “The Mysterious
Disappearance of Dr. Corbeau” presents a neo-noir radio play complete with ad jingles and a suspenseful plot.
David Reminick’s “Bringing a Dead Man Back Into Life” is a virtuosic blend of heavy rock and intricate dissonant textures akin to the music of German composer Helmut Lachenmann. You may have seen David on stage as the frontman of Chicago’s own post-punk trio Paper Mice or playing Bari Sax at the Green Mill with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).
