Producer Camilo Lara has partnered with creative brand Pay’s to debut a series of designs based on Lara’s Mexican Institute of Sound album, D.F., which debuted earlier this year. Today, Pay’s and MIS introduce three new pieces that beautifully portray elements from the album, like el Angel de la Independencia in Aztec style, in colors like yellow and black, reminiscint of uniforms worn by city workers. It’s a wonderful homage of the Mexico City he once knew, brought to the present through streetwear fashion. It’s a continuation of the creative love letter Lara introduced in D.F. to his hometown of Mexico City. A sarape, a sweater and pants are now available for purchase here.
You can purchase it physically at #Paystore as of Friday, April 23, 2021, located at Marsella 59 Col. Juárez #PayStore #CDMX
We spoke with Camilo about this project, something he’s never done before and that he’s excited to share. See the designs and listen to the interview below.
