After the massive global success of his ninth studio album VIDA, the multi-diamond international star Luis Fonsi will release his new single “Date La Vuelta” featuring Nicky Jam and Sebastian Yatra, tonight at midnight on all digital platforms.
This is the first time Fonsi collaborates with the Reggaeton star and the Colombian singer-songwriter. There is no doubt that the combination of their different musical styles and voices will make “Date La Vuelta” a song that promises to become another international hit.
“I wrote this song together with Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, two amazing songwriters and producers with whom I have been working with for the last two years on songs like “Despacito,” “Échame La Culpa,” “Calypso,” and “Imposible.” We had the desire to write something with a romantic touch but also rhythmic, and happy. That’s why these two incredible artists, Nicky and Sebastian, are in this with me, they’ve always been able to mix both worlds. I’ve always been a fan of Nicky because he uses a lot of melody within his Urban flow and has an incredible voice. Yatra represents what the new Pop is, that fusion between genres without abandoning the romanticism. It is the perfect union to carry a positive message, joy, and enjoyment to our Latin audience,” said Luis Fonsi.
While Nicky Jam said, “I am excited about this collaboration as I’ve admired Fonsi for many years. He is an icon and one of the best voices in Latin music. Yatra is someone I’ve always wanted to work with since the beginning of his career. So, I’m thrilled to be able to work with both of them in this happy, good vibes song, that makes you want to dance and enjoy.”
“I still can’t believe I’m here; the truth is it’s a dream, and it means a lot to me because they are two artists that not only kill the game with their songs and melodies, but their lyrics as well. Working with them is the ultimate dream come true,” said Sebastian Yatra while shooting the video for the song.
The video, which will be seen around the world starting tonight at midnight, was directed by award-winning Carlos Perez, Elastic People’s Creative Director, and filmed last March at a secret location in Miami, FL.
Fonsi, the winner of La Voz, the first-ever Spanish-language version of the hit series The Voice, and one of the finalists of this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards 2019, is set to perform “Date La Vuelta” with Nicky Jam and Sebastian Yatra for the first time ever, during the award ceremony which will be held in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 25, and will be broadcasted live on Telemundo at 8/7C.
