Floridablanca’s repertoire is a tribute to dance music and decades of groove and nightlife culture, from Quincy Jones to Daft Punk and La Movida. If they were from Los Angeles they would have taken Capitol Studios by storm to record this album; fortunately, they are from Madrid, and in all their songs they show different ways of interpreting the sounds of the night of the city: “the low lights, the colored beams, the clinking of glasses with the ice, the footsteps on the dance floor, the movement, the heat; songs that besides being listened to are played, felt; and take us to that early morning when everything was perfect”.
Defined as part of the soundtrack for a perfect weekend, their songs are synth-pop anthems with influences of disco and funk from various eras. Already with their first album, they turned that nostalgic look at the mentality and aesthetics of the 80’s into something current and in top form. Their hit single “Sólo de madrugada” spent a month on Spotify’s Top Viral.
This second album arrives two years late. Floridablanca has had to put on pause due to the impossibility of remaining active in its natural habitat: the stages, the parties, the festivals. Although during these months they have not stopped releasing songs, such as ‘Madrid me mata’, ‘Bomba de humo’, ‘Quieres Más (Mucho +), ‘te he bloqueado’ or ‘El Desencanto’, all included here along with new pop breakers like ‘La gran belleza’.
