This was a tough interview! We were totally starstruck in the presence of the gran diva de la música mexicoamericana, the awesome Lila Downs. Downs’ music and persona were some of the first to blend indigenous Mexicanidad and North American pop/rock in ways that were supremely cool, both visually and sonically, and it was great to hear how she brought all her worlds and cultures to her music.
