In light of the new presidential regulations, we are starting to live in a time where our ethnicity, our nationalities are questioned more than ever. However, culture seems to vanish and fade as generations pass. It diminishes the more others and ourselves try to assimilate and belong to our environment. The older, earlier generations who first set foot here shouldn’t always fear a loss of culture by choosing to live or raise a family in a foreign country. We shouldn’t lose a beautiful culture because we are in a different place. This event is to celebrate and be proud of who we are and where we are from.
As artist we have the ability to spread it even more through our imagination and talents. We don’t have to change our styles or message of art to blend in with what’s common.
Any art is not about making it, art is about spreading whatever message it carries. It’s not about what we gain from it, it’s about what others gain from listening, or seeing it whether it reaches many or a few.
This is a night for artist to spread and show pride in their own culture and message. It will be a night of hearing stories, poetry, music, and art. All writers and poetry writers are also welcome to share your writing in our open mic session…….
