Writing Meet Up – Putting Stories of Resistance on the Page

January 7, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

WHO: Chicago Latino Writers Initiative

WHEN:: Saturday, January 7th from 1:30PM to 3:30PM

WHERE: La Catrina Cafe, 1011 West 18th Street, Chicago, IL 60608

WHY: The incoming President and his policies are going to impact every aspect of our society. How can a community of writers fight back? The best way we know how! Writing and telling our stories.

In support of Writers Resist events happening across the nation, The Chicago Latino Writers Initiative will host a free writing event.

It’s up to all of us to come together and use our fierce writing skills to defend people of color, the disabled, immigrants, LGBTQ, women, and our first amendment right of freedom of speech.

The goal of this event is to begin generating new works of resistance and create collaborations and actions with other writers.

Program Agenda

-Action steps

Please note the focus of this meet up is to generate new work. Bring your laptop, Ipads, pen, paper, whatever it is you need to write.

We hope you will stop in and kickstart your writing, meet other writers, and plan future writing actions.
