World Music Wednesday: Rumbos y Destinos

April 2, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Chicago became the destination of many Latin American musicians looking for work or a new beginning. Rumbos y Destinos is a project produced by Gian Luca Ferme’s Kaleidorama celebrating the long nights of Chicago’s Latin American peñas. Artists featured include Alba Guerra (Argentina), Alberto Sanabria (Paraguay); Alfonso Chacón and Nelson Sosa (Chile); Diana Mosquera and Marieth Quintero (Colombia); Hugo Treviño and Pedro Rodriguez (Mexico). They perform alongside other Chicago based musicians their mixture of rock, Latin jazz, and traditional rhythms.
