Founded in 1989 in Naucalpan, Mexico, Café Tacvba mixes influences from indigenous folk traditions, Jarocho, and electro punk to form a style known to their fans as Rock en Español. The band has managed to maintain their original lineup, with Rubén Ortega on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Emmanuel “Meme” del Real Díaz on keyboards, Jose “Joselo” Arroyo on lead guitar, and Enrique “Quique” Arroyo on bass. The group is regularly joined by Mexican folk music player, Alejandro Flores on the violin, and Luis “El Children” Ledezma on drums.
