In the Golden Age of Magic, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Chicago established itself as a major center for magic in the United States. Magicians from all over the world gathered here to amaze and entertain audiences in theaters, parlors, nightclubs, showrooms, and restaurants throughout the city.
Since 2007, The Magic Cabaret has continued the Chicago magic tradition, bringing a live magic show to audiences eager for surprise, mystery, and wonder. Every Wednesday evening, magic fans gather in the intimate setting of the Greenhouse studio theater, where David Parr and Joe Diamond present classic conjuring in the Windy City style, with an emphasis on audience participation and mind-boggling sleight of hand! As the Chicago Reader put it, “This is an evening that shows magic to its best advantage, up close and personal!”
