Following a hugely successful concert with fellow Donegal band Fidil in the Old Town School of Folk Music in summer 2011, Donegal sisters The Henry Girls are delighted to return. Since last year, the sisters have been garnering a lot of attention on the world folk stage. In early 2012, they completed a sell out tour of Ireland and also Germany, where they were joined once again by Fidil and new Irish supergroup, Tulsk. They have been receiving huge amounts of airplay and receiving rave reviews internationally for their album December Moon. Later in 2012, they will be touring extensively in the UK, and also have been invited to perform at world music festivals in Sweden, Australia, and Holland.
The Henry Girls are delighted to have The Fox Hunt from West Virginia join them for this show at the Old Town School, reprising their 2010 Earagail Arts Festival cross-Atlantic collaboration with the group. Peddling a streetwise, subtly subversive mix of vintage Americana and potent original songwriting, The Fox Hunt are a must see act. Bittersweet close harmonies, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and double bass are dynamically layered around a single condenser microphone, underpinned by masterly technique and memorable wordcraft.
