Sonorama is excited to announce the arrival of its own record label, Sonorama Discos. The first release from the label is in collaboration with Dos Santos Anti-Beat Orchestra, a band that has been steadily making the rounds at Chicago’s premiere live music venues and festivals, bringing the sounds of Pan-Latin American Cumbia to audiences across the city with their gritty, grassroots, danceable approach.
The special 7” (45 rpm) release includes two original compositions from Dos Santos. On Side A, “Corre Caballo” quickly kicks into a driving Latin funk groove building up to a hypnotic climax of swirling guitars and funky organ. The flip side, “Roberto’s Lament” is a moody instrumental that serves up flavors reminiscent of Chile’s soul psych rockers, Los Angeles Negros. Soaked in layers of reverb guitar and a trippy Hammond organ, it slowly swells leaving you wanting more.
Limited to 500 copies, the release is pressed on translucent yellow colored vinyl and packaged in a full color sleeve with enclosed HQ digital download card. Sonorama Discos is proud to feature two tracks from this hot new band, remastered and pressed onto vinyl for the first time ever. This record is scheduled for world-wide release on March 20th 2015 and is set to ignite music lovers across the globe
