Sexual Abuse Prevention 101: How to talk to your kids about body safety & consent

August 21, 2016 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Child Sexual Abuse is a scary topic that can raise a lot of questions for parents- How do I speak to my child about sexual abuse in age-appropriate ways? How can I help prevent child sexual abuse? Should I have these conversations with my kids? If so, when?

Along with giving parents a space to explore these questions, parents can expect this presentation to cover background information on the dynamics of child sexual abuse, everyday prevention tips, ideas on how to bring this conversation into the home, as well as a chance to practice responding to a disclosure. Parents will leave the presentation with plenty of resources to assist them going forward.

This presentation is aimed at parents of elementary-school aged children, but parents of children of any age are welcome and encouraged to join the conversation!
