RESIST. REIMAGINE. REBUILD. CHICAGO.
A network of 32 Chicago area community and labor organizations working to build unity and resistance in this urgent political moment.
We are joining with Beyond the Moment, a national campaign launched by the Movement for Black Lives calling for mass education on April 4th, the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic “Beyond Vietnam” speech and his assassination a year later, and a day of action on May 1. We are also linking with those seeking an expanded sanctuary movement that is inclusive of Black and Latinx communities and the various injustices we all face.
Join us on April 4th, for a massive Citywide UNITY Teach-in and Chicago movement gathering. We need you. We need each other.
During the program:
• Learn how other Chicago communities are fighting back
• Commemorate Dr. King’s historic “Beyond Vietnam” speech in 1967 in which he linked racial and economic justice, condemned war and poverty, and called for unified action, and a “radical revolution of values.”
• Get practical information about grassroots organizations throughout the city
• Hear from artists, organizers, lawyers and others
• Join the resistance.
