Quetzal Art Fest in Pilsen will feature live painters, Sculptures, vendors and showcasing artists. There will also be an opportunity to participate in artistic workshops throughout the day.
This Summer, EXPO Collective in collaboration with The Resurrection Project (TRP) will host Quetzal Art Fest on June 13, 2015. As part of its 25th year anniversary celebration, TRP is a lead sponsor for this event that is geared toward making the arts accessible to the community, while showcasing the extremely talented local artists as well as from around the Chicagoland area. Quetzal Art Fest will take place in Pilsen’s Zocalo, located on 18st and Paulina.
Residents and families will enjoy an array of artistic elements including large scale pieces set to be donated to area non-profits including El Hogar del Nino, El Valor, Ruiz Elementary, Cooper Elementary, St. Pius Church, Central States SER, San Jose Obrero Mission, El Rincon Family Services and The Resurrection Project.
“We’re extremely excited to be hosting a festival that depicts the idea of artistic freedom,” said Roho Garcia, co-founder of EXPO Collective and participating artist. “As I always say, ‘Imagination is your strongest weapon. Use it.’ And that’s exactly what we’re bringing to the community; the ability to use our imagination to add more life to organizations that make our entire community better.”
