Pride & Prejudice: A Live Reading at Block 37

January 28, 2013 @ 7:00 am - 12:00 am

Free

The Jane Austen Society – Greater Chicago Region kicks-off the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the publication of Jane Austen’s beloved “Pride and Prejudice” with a live reading of the novel on Monday, January 28th, 2013, from 7am to 7pm at Block 37 in Chicago.

Over 40 actors, artists, poets, writers, and fans of Jane Austen will generously lend their voices and talents to bring to life the classic love story of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet, beginning with one of the most famous first sentences in English literature: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must
be in want of a wife.”
