Panel Discussion: Ethnic Studies in Latin America

An interdisciplinary panel that will exam the emerging field of ethnic studies in Latin America through a comparative anaylisis of ethnicity and race relations.

This panel discussion inclues the following educators:

John Tofik Karam, Assistant Professor in Latin American and Latino Studies at DePaul University, focuses on Arabs in the Americas.

David Gilliam, Associate Professor in Modern Languages at DePaul University, specializes in Africans in the Americas.

Rudy Guevarra, Assistant Professor of Asian Pacific American Studies at Arizona State University, works on comparative Asian and Latina/o American Studies.

Zelideth Maria Rivas, Assistant Professor of Japanese at Grinnell College, works on Japanese in Brazil.
