The 84th Annual Academy Awards will occur on February 26th 2012, and here is your chance to see some of the nominees on the big screen! This series will feature some of our favorites form 2011, some films that have not been seen at all in Chicago, and a SUPER SECRET SCREENING of a film that has not yet screened in Chicago!
The 84th Academy Awards ceremony, hosted by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2011 on February 26, 2012, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Since the nominations were announced by AMPAS on January 24, 2012 the Music Box Theatre has been working to put together a special series of films for our own Oscar Tribute.
The Music Box will continue it’s exclusive Chicago screenings of “A SEPARATION” as well as the first and only chance to see the 2012 Oscar Nominated Documentary Short Subject Program. A new film from Drafthouse Films, “BULLHEAD” has only been screened in Chicago as part of the Chicago International Film Festival before these screenings.
The entire week will culminate with a special and secret screening of a film Thursday, February 16th at 7:30 that has not been seen in Chicago but has been nominated for an Oscar. Only the first 200 in attendance will be allowed in, and special instructions to RSVP will only be given to people when they purchase tickets to other screenings of our special Oscar week series.
Enjoy this very special week!
