Join us for the Opening Night Gala of the 33rd Chicago Latino Film Festival featuring the Argentinian romantic comedy, One Night of Love (Una noche de amor) and the appearance of the film’s lead actress, Carla Peterson at the AMC River East 21 Theatres. The event will conclude with a post-screening reception at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
One Night of Love centers on Leonel (Sebastian Wainraich) and Paola (Peterson) who have been happily married for 12 years and are the proud parents of two kids. He is a famous scriptwriter and she is an equally successful psychologist. But that placid façade can’t contain the feelings that something’s amiss in their marriage. It just takes one dinner, the news that their best friends are separating, and a rather eventful walk around their neighborhood to force them to confront their doubts. Director Hernán Guerschuny and Wainraich (who co-wrote the script) deliver an intimate, penetrating and bittersweet portrait of a marriage at a crossroads.
Admission includes the film screening and reception offering food, drinks, live entertainment including a tango performance. Cocktail attire is strongly encouraged. Discounted parking available at River East Parking Garage (lower level of theater). Please pick up the discounted parking voucher at the Festival Information Table at the theatre.
Opening Night is sponsored by the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in Chicago, Corona Extra and BMO Harris Bank.
