On May Day join us for a massive mobilization and march to highlight hard working families who have been separated through deportations, and are struggling to provide basic necessities like food, rent, healthcare and transportation while working at some of the richest corporations in the country.
By the middle of April, President Obama will have carried out 2 million deportations, more than any other president. President Obama doesn’t have to wait for Congress to use his executive authority to stop the suffering. He could expand the deferred action program he created for immigrant youth and suspend deportations immediately. Additionally, by separating hard working families, these deportations are making it harder for workers in Chicago and elsewhere to survive and making it easier for rich corporations to exploit their workers.
On May 1, we will meet at Haymarket Memorial at 3:00pm
(175 N. Desplaines St. Chicago, IL 60661). The march will conclude at ICE headquarters at 4:30pm (101 West Congress Parkway Chicago, IL 60605).
