Chicago-based global jazz ensemble Latinisé will be releasing its new album “Outerlingual” on Thursday, October 28th 2010 with a masquerade-themed concert event at the Stan Mansion. Guests are requested to arrive in costume.
The concert will feature selections from the new album “Outerlingual”, including jazz arrangements of tango, cabaret, pop, opera, bossa nova and folk music from Latin America and Europe.
Vocalist/violinist Andrea Else will be joined by musicians specializing in world, jazz and experimental styles to create Latinisé’s trademark “global-fusion” sound. The dance floor will be open to all guests, and featured dancers will perform throughout the evening, including tango, modern, samba and flamenco performers.
Costume contest prizes will be awarded for the most musical, most worldly, and most eclectic costumes. Fantasy face painting will be available for guests who do not arrive in masks. A cash bar will be open from 7pm – 10:30 pm.
Proceeds will be donated to the Merit School of Music, an organization founded in 1979 that provides high-quality music education to students in metropolitan Chicago. The primary goals of the Merit School of Music are to help young people achieve their full musical potential, to remove economic barriers to participation, and to stimulate personal and educational growth through music.
