MAKE X: A Decade of Literary Art Book Release Event with “BarBookQue”

May 20 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Celebrate the highly anticipated release of MAKE X: A Decade of Literary Art (Featherproof
Books) with a BarBookQue, highlights from contributors, music, and more.
MAKE X collects memorable work published throughout the last ten years by beloved literary
magazine MAKE and honors a decade of storytelling and literary rabble-rousing in Chicago and
beyond. In addition, MAKE X features full-color, current work from selected visual art
contributors. This event is free to attend, and the BBQ buffet is only ten bucks. Pre-purchase
food tickets at makemag.com for bonus Featherproof books and more.

MAKE X will be available for purchase at the event, of course!

At 3 PM, contributors to the book and friends of MAKE—including authors Kathleen Rooney
and Martin Seay, visual artist John Sparagana, Chicago historian Paul Durica, NYC poet
Christopher Stackhouse and Mexici City poet Luis Felipe Fabre via video, and many more—
will highlight their personal favorites or tell us more about how their work came to be and what
they are up to these days.

With Chicago’s most literary comedian, Adam Burke, as host.
A live performance from Chicago writer and musician Marvin Tate to follow.
