July 23-25, 2015
“Carnaval 2015” is a groundbreaking event highlighting 12 new works by Latina/o playwrights as well as being a national meeting for Latina/o playwrights, directors, actors, and theater makers to showcase and celebrate their work. There will be readings of plays never before performed, dialogues, panels and networking events to engage participants and connect theaters, artists and scholars across the country.
Carnaval 2015 is the third and largest event in a three-year plan and the one entirely incepted by the Latina/o Theatre Commons. Previous events (in Boston and LA) took the pulse of the Latina/o theater community in the U.S. and Carnaval 2015 focuses on moving forward into creating more performances, productions and opportunities for Latina/os.
