Latin@ Techies now has a breakout group at Chi Hack Night!
Chi Hack Night takes place every Tuesday at 6pm in the lovely offices of Braintree at Merchandise Mart (8th floor, register online). The night kicks off with bites & mingling followed by introductions, announcements, and a different presentation each week. Then at 7:15pm, the civic hacking begins!
Join the Latin@ Techies breakout group for a night of civic hacking on issues affecting Latino communities. We meet by the #ImmigrationTaskForce in the cafeteria, where some of us continue working on the housing hackathon projects while others help the task force on issues affecting immigrants and refugees. Got your own idea for something you want to work on? Or know a Latin@ organization that wants to bounce off ideas on how tech can help them further their cause? Swing by and let’s get brainstorming!
You do NOT have to be a coder to join Chi Hack Night. You just have to have an interest in using your skills towards serving your community.
Formed in 2014 as the first Latino tech network in Chicago, Latin@ Techies creates community-based events to expose young Latin@s to STEM, connect tech professionals, and, through our weekly breakout group at #ChiHackNight and our annual Latin@ Hackathon, leverage tech to tackle critical community issues.
