Israeli Jazz Festival: Hadar Noiberg Trio

May 22, 2013 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

From the foreign to the familiar, from Israel to Chicago, for five days, the Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest presents the first Israeli Jazz Festival in Chicago. The festival will run from Sunday, May 19 through Thursday, May 23 at different venues throughout Chicago.

The first Israeli Jazz Festival in Chicago will highlight the full spectrum of the diverse jazz music scene in Israel. The artists reflect the international and multi-cultural diversity found throughout Israel. Such influences have inspired the music which ranges from Afro –Caribbean to Latin fusion, from Ethio-Jazz to Jewish Klezmer, and from Middle Eastern to smooth, straight-ahead Jazz.

Hadar Noiberg Trio :
Since arriving in New York City at age 21, flutist, composer and arranger Hadar Noiberg has established herself as a major force in the Cuban, Jazz, and World music scenes. With a language that transcends her Middle Eastern roots, she fuses styles seamlessly, distinguishing herself as both innovative and highly skilled. Hadar started her career from a young age as a classical musician, playing and touring with the Israeli Young Philharmonic Orchestra, and studying at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music with flutist Yossi Arnheim (principal flutist for the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra).
